Start with the same risk
Describe the same property, drivers or business operation in each application. If the facts differ, the price comparison is no longer like for like.
Review limits and deductibles
A limit describes how far a coverage may respond. A deductible is the amount you assume in a covered loss. For Florida property, ask about separate deductibles, including hurricane deductibles when relevant.
Read exclusions and endorsements
An endorsement may add or modify protection. An exclusion may leave out a relevant risk. Ask for an explanation of differences and keep the declarations for every policy.
